Dr. Harlow always came through the upper halls after the watchmen called the attendants. Q. That was so during all these years you were there- A. Yes, sir. Q.- that the superintendent of the asylum, every morning directly after the watchmen came round to waken the attendants, was there on the spot making his rounds or daily visits? A. Yes, sir; he went round unless he was away or sick. Q. Even before the attendants themselves were up he was on the spot? A. I dont know about that; I dont know as he was on the spot before the attendants were up. Q. As soon as they were up? A. If he started directly he might have been there in 5 or 10 minutes. Q. And in all the years you were there did you ever know him, when he was there preset at the hospital, and not sick, to miss doing that thing every morning? A. I dont think I ever did; I dont remember
