The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated trucks of class 4 have a single interior wall structure, and higher insulation than traditional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission transport of passengers or goods.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will allow fleets to make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.
We had the chance to test the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway and found it to be a breeze to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can block road noise and wind while on the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is quite fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 is extremely reliable and can be fully charged in about three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the cruise control and torque while the sport mode increases speed and handling. electric power scooters are enjoyable to drive and offer an unforgettable experience for those who haven't driven an electrical vehicle before.

GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means they will be eligible for federal assistance in transit. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its demonstration tour the coming months.
