, are presented.Autonomic neuropathy has been reported in autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARD) including Sjögren's syndrome, systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. However, the pathophysiological mechanism underlying autonomic dysfunction remains unknown to researchers. On the other hand, autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) is an acquired immune-mediated disorder, which causes dysautonomia that is mediated by autoantibodies against ganglionic acetylcholine receptors (gAChRs). The purpose of this review was to describe the characteristics of autonomic disturbance through previous case reports and the functional tests used in these studies and address the importance of anti-gAChR antibodies. We have established luciferase immunoprecipitation systems to detect antibodies against gAChR in the past and determined the prevalence of gAChR antibodies in various autoimmune diseases including AAG and rheumatic diseases. Autonomic dysfunction, which affects lower parasympathetic and higher sympathetic activity, is usually observed in ARD. The anti-gAChR antibodies may play a crucial role in autonomic dysfunction observed in ARD. Further studies are necessary to determine whether anti-gAChR antibody levels are correlated with the severity of autonomic dysfunction in ARD.DRAM2-associated retinopathy is a rare inherited retinal dystrophy, and its outcome has not been determined. A single retinal involvement by a mutation of the DRAM2 gene is unexplained. We found three unrelated patients with a disease-causing DRAM2 variant in a biallelic state from 1555 Japanese individuals of 1314 families with inherited retinal dystrophy. We reviewed their medical records and examined their peripheral lymphocytes by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Patient 1 was a 38-year-old woman who complained of night blindness and reduced vision. She developed macular degeneration at age 43 years. Patients 2 and 3 were a man and a woman both of whom noticed night blindness in their 30s. Both had a degeneration in the macula and midperiphery in their 40s, which progressed to a diffuse retinal degeneration in their 60s when their vision was reduced to hand motions. Three novel DRAM2 variants were identified. TEM of the lymphocytes of Patients 1 and 2 showed abnormal structures in 40.6% and 0.3% of the peripheral lymphocytes, respectively. We concluded that the DRAM2-associated retinopathy of our patients was a progressive rod-cone dystrophy, and the visual outcome was poor. The systemic effect of DRAM2 mutations may be compensable and have variations.BACKGROUND Clozapine is of high clinical relevance for the management of both treatment-resistant schizophrenia and psychotic disturbances with concurrent drug misuse. Although the molecule presents with a range of well-known side-effects, its discontinuation/withdrawal syndrome has been only anecdotally described. AIMS the 2005-2018 European Medicines Agency (EMA) dataset of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) was analyzed to identify and describe possible clozapine withdrawal- and misuse-/abuse-/dependence-related issues. METHOD A descriptive analysis of clozapine-related ADRs was performed when available, data on ADRs' outcome, dosage, and possible concomitant drug(s) were considered. RESULTS Out of 11,847 clozapine-related ADRs, some 599 (5.05%) were related to misuse/abuse/dependence/withdrawal issues, including 258 withdrawal-related (43.1%); 241 abuse-related (40.2%); and 80 intentional product misuse-related (13.3%) ADRs. A small number of overdose- and suicide-related ADRs were reported as well. Clozapine was typically (69.2%) identified alone, and most (84.7%) fatalities/high-dosage intake instances were reported in association with a history of substance abuse. CONCLUSIONS Previous suggestions about the possibility of a clozapine discontinuation/withdrawal occurrence are here supported, but further studies are needed. However, the misuse/abuse cases here identified might be difficult to interpret, given the lack of studies highlighting the possible recreational use of clozapine. The high-dosage intake, fatal outcomes and clozapine/polydrug abuse issues reported here may, however, be a reason for concern. An oxygen-free solar selective absorbing coating of Cu/TixSiyN/AlSiN was prepared on a Cu buffered stainless steel substrate by magnetron sputtering. This coating was prepared using a single target for each layer. A spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer and atomic force microscopy were used to characterize the optical properties, crystalline structure, morphology and composition of these coatings. The coating of Cu/TixSiyN/AlSiN has good optical properties (average absorption of 0.941 and emittance of 0.058) and excellent thermal stability. The performance criterion (PC) is 0.0365, when the solar selective absorbing coating is heated in air at 200 °C for 1200 h.Balangu (Lallemantia sp.) is a medicinal herb with a variety of applications, all parts of which have economic uses, including leaf for extraction of essential oils, as a vegetable and potherb, seed for extraction of mucilage and edible or industrial oil. To investigate the effect of cultivation season and standard chemical and nano fertilizers (n) on the yield components and antioxidant properties of Dragon's head, a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design was conducted with 12 treatments and three replications. Experimental treatments consisted of two seasons (spring and winter cultivation) and six levels of fertilizer (control, NPK-s, NPK-n, Fe-chelated-n, NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n, NPK-s + NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n). The traits included grain yield per plant, essential oil percentage and yield, mucilage percentage and yield, antioxidant properties in the seeds and leaves, including total phenols and flavonoids content, DPPH radical scavenging, and nitric oxide and superoxide radical scavenging. see more The results showed that winter cultivation had a noticeable advantage over spring cultivation across all of the traits. The highest grain yield per plant was obtained in winter cultivation using NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n fertilizer treatment. The highest essential oil percentage was in NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n. The highest mucilage percentage was observed in NPK-s + NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n fertilizer treatment, which was not statistically different to NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n treatment. The combined effects of winter cultivation and NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n fertilizers resulted in improving antioxidant activity traits. Overall, the results indicated that the combination of winter cultivation and NPK-n + Fe-chelated-n fertilizers are the most appropriate treatment to acquire highest qualitative and quantitative yield of Dragon's head, in the Azerbaijan region (Iran).
