Infection occurred only in three patients. The final cosmetic appearance of the healed wounds was satisfying as POSAS scores were 17.74 for patient scar assesment scale (PSAS) and 15.3 for observer scar assessment scale (OSAS).

Four quadrant embedded purse string technique is a simple and useful method to close skin defects after circular resection of lesions. It provides minimal scarring and remarkable patient satisfaction.

Many programs designed to improve feedback to students focus on faculty's ability to provide a safe learning environment, and specific, actionable suggestions for improvement. Little attention has been paid to improving students' attitudes and skills in accepting and responding to feedback effectively. Effective "real-time" feedback in the clinical setting is dependent on both the skill of the teacher and the learner's ability to receive the feedback. Medical students entering their clinical clerkships are not formally trained in receiving feedback, despite the significant amount of feedback received during this time.

We developed and implemented a one-hour workshop to teach medical students strategies for effectively receiving and responding to "real-time" (formative) feedback in the clinical environment. Subjective confidence and skill in receiving real-time feedback were assessed in pre- and post-workshop surveys. Objective performance of receiving feedback was evaluated before and after the workshop u feedback may improve effective feedback reception as well as self-perceived skill and confidence in receiving feedback. Providing strategies to trainees to improve their ability to effectively receive feedback may be a high-yield approach to both strengthen the power of feedback in the clinical environment and enrich the clinical experience of the medical student.

Depression affects about a third of medical students worldwide. There is paucity of data on depression among medical students in Uganda. The purpose of this study was to establish the prevalence and factors associated with depression among medical students at Makerere University College of Health Science (MakCHS), Uganda.

A cross-sectional study was conducted among students pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at MakCHS in May and July 2019. Students were enrolled by consecutive sampling, both online using Google Forms and in person for those unable to access internet. The self-reported Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ9) was administered to assess depression, defined as a PHQ9 score ≥10. Microsoft Excel 2016 and Stata 16 were used for data analysis.

Overall, 331 valid responses (mean age 23.1±3.3 years) were submitted (response rate 93.8%). In a majority of participants, the prevalence of depression was 21.5% (n=71) of which 64.1% had moderate depression (n=50). On bivariate analysis, year of d at identification and evaluation of students at risk, administering appropriate interventions, and follow-up of affected students are vital. Analytical studies aimed at establishing the causative factors and the effects of depression on medical students are recommended.

The rapid outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a major health concern, in response to which widespread risk factor research is being carried out.

To discover how physical activity and lifestyle affect the epidemic as well as the disease severity and prognosis of COVID-19 patients.

This multicenter, retrospective cohort study included 203 adults infected with COVID-19 and 228 uninfected adults in three Chinese provinces, with 164 (80.7%) of the infected participants and 188 (82.5%) of the uninfected participants answering a doctor-administered telephone questionnaire on lifestyle. The binary logistic regression model and the ordinal logit model were used to observe relevance.

Comparing sick and non-sick patients, we found that irregular exercise (

=0.004), sedentary lifestyle (

=0.010), and overexertion (

<0.001) may be associated with the susceptibility to COVID-19. In symptomatic patients, using the recommended status as a reference, risk of severe infection increased with decreased sleep status, being 6.729 (95% CI=2.138-21.181) times higher for potentially appropriate sleep (

=0.001) and peaking at 8.612 (95% CI=1.913-38.760) times higher for lack of sleep (

=0.005). Reduction in average daily sleep time significantly increased the likely severity (

=0.002).

Through further examination of damage of external lung organs, we found that lack of sleep affected not only disease severity but also prognosis. Based on these findings, the public should prioritize a healthy lifestyle and get adequate sleep in response to the outbreak. The study of life habits may bring new ideas for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites produced mainly by the molds

and

, and they contaminate cereals, dry fruits, oilseeds and spices. Aflatoxins have harmful effects in animals and humans, inducing vomiting, diarrhea, hepatitis, cirrhosis, immunosuppression, miscarriages, mutagenic and teratogenic effects, resulting in different cancers. learn more Popcorn (

everta) is a cereal susceptible to aflatoxin contamination, and there are no reports about the risk of its consumption.

A study on the incidence and consumption of aflatoxins in popcorn marketed in the city of Veracruz, Mexico was conducted and evaluated to carry out a risk assessment for human health.

To obtain popcorn, a random sampling in 30 places was done. Frequency of consumption was obtained with informed consent of participants of 253 surveys that considered gender (56% women and 44% men), age (13 less than 18 years, 218 older than 18 years and 22 older than 60 years) and the average body weight, which was 65.5 kg for women and 72.7 kg for men.
