Picket ___ camp ground, drilling inspection, bathing, and keeping fire was the order of the day for a long time. 30th We started up the river on a reconnaissance and stayed near Kelly's Ford. 31st ___ at the Ford while the other two brigades was ____ the river January 1st, 1863 We returned to camp awful tired for they marched us too hard. We were mustered for pay. Welay in camp here for a long time doing camp and picket duty and drilling.
