[Committee - on compensation to Committee to locate Seat of Government &c &c]

An order came from the Senate for concurrence, directing the committee on accounts to consider what compensation shall be made to the committee appointed by the Governor & Council agreeably to a resolve of last session, to collect information and investigate the subject of the punishment of convicts & the establishment of a States prison & penitentiary, and also the subject of the location of the seat of government - and the House concurred.

[Bill - min. lands in Anson.]

Bill to authorize the sale of ministerial & school lands in the town of Anson, which passed this House 16th inst. came down from the Senate amended at A B & C. for concurrence - and the House concurred.

[Committee respecting narrow rimmed Cart wheels]

On motion, Ordered that Messrs Whitney, Wilkins of N.C. & Burr of M. be a committee to take into consideration the propriety of enacting a law to prohibit loaded teams from passing on public highways with narrow rimmed wheels after a limited time, with leave to report by bill or otherwise - Read & passed.

An order came from the Senate referring the petition of William Clark & als for a bank at Hallowell to the committee on Banks & Banking for concurrence and the House concurred

Bill, in addition to an act regulating the admission of Attornies & authorizing particular persons in certain cases to prosecute & defend suits at law, was taken up and passage to a 3d reading refused.

Bill to incorporate Maine Lodge, was read a 3d time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
