[Committee - Jay School & Ministerial fund &c] to consider what alterations (if any) are necessary relating to the Law establishing the "Jay School and Ministerial fund" and the appointment of Trustees in the town of Canton with leave to report by bill or otherwise - Read and passed.
[Senator to Congress chosen on part of the House] {John Holmes Esq] Agreeably to assignment the House proceeds at 12 oclock on their part to the choice of a Senator to to represent this State in the Congress of the United States - and upon receiving, sorting & counting the ballots it appeared the whole number given in was 139: necessary to a choice 70 John Holmes Esq. had 92 and is elected on the part of the House. Sent up for concurrence.
[Bill - tenure of certain Officers &c] Committee to whom was referred the Bill entitled "An Act to limit the tenure of certain Officers therein named" report the same as taken into a new draft. Read a second time and the further consideration there of postponed till Monday next at 10 o'clock.
[Bill regulation of Mills &c &c] Bill "for the support and regulation of Mills" Read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
[Bill - certain Criminal prosecutions" Bill, reported by the Board of Jurisprudence, providing for the payment of costs in criminal prosecutions &c" Read a first and second time and tomorrow at 9 oclock assigned for a third reading and committed to Messrs Stebbins of Alna, Spofford of Deer Isle and Little of Bucksport.
