Sent down for concurrence. Read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed. "An Act to divide the town of Jay in the County of Oxford and to incorporate the westerly part thereof into a town by the name Canton" which was passed to be enacted.

[Nicholas Emery Esq. appointed Commissioner for purchase of lands &c &c -]

Agreeably to a Resolve passed this day providing for the appointment of a Commissioner on the part of the House to join another to be appointed by the Senate who together with James Bridge, Benjamin J. Porter & Lothrop Lewis are to constitute a Board to negotiate with Commissioners to be appointed by Massachusetts to negotiate for the purchase of lands owned by said Commonwealth lying in this State, the House unanimously appointed Nicholas Emery Esq. of Portland the Commissioner on the part of the House.
