[Report of committee to consider if debts may not be collected without imprisonment —] On motion of Mr Wilkins of New Charleston, Ordered, That Messrs Wilkins of New Charleston, Belcher of Farmington and Parker of Brooksville be a committee to consider the expediency and practicability of enforcing by law, the payment and collection of debts without imprisonment, with leave to report by bill or otherwise — read & passed.
[Committee to receive Treasurers Bond -] An order of the Senate appointing Messrs McDonald and Buxton with such as the House may join a committee to receive the bond to be given by the Treasurer of the State for the performance of the duties of his office, came down for concurrence — and the House concurred and Messrs Pond of Bucksport, Crowell of Waterville & Flint of New Vineyard were joined.
[Bill - Burnt Meadow Brook Canal] The Bill "to incorporate Samuel Bean & others for the purpose of making a Canal on burnt Meadow Brook so called in the town of Brownfield in the County of Oxford" which passed this House 29 inst. came from the Senate amended at A.
