[180] [1822 Feb. 7.] The Bill in second reading - to establish the Dexter Academy - was on motion ordered to be referred to the next Legislature - Sent down for concurrence. [account to be received by committee] On motion ordered that the vote adopting the order to the Committee on accounts that they should receive no accounts aggaints the State, after the thirtieth day of January last, at the present session be so far reconsidered as that the account of AWIlliam K. Porter Judge Advocate of the sixth division for the Pay roll of a Court Martial - and the account of Joseph Clark for militia services amy be considered by the said committee - Sent down for concurrence - [Report on petitions] Mr Bond from the Committee on New Trials made the following reports on petitions referred to them - to wit that Solomon Thayer give notice of his petition by causing an atttested copy and the order thereon to be published in the Eastport Sentinel three weeks successively - the last publication to be thirty days before the first Wednesday of the next Legislature - to the end persons interested away then show cause, if any they have why the prayer thereof should not be granted - also that the Selectmen of Green have leave to bring in a Bill and that Thomas R. White and others have leave to bring in a Resolve on their petition - Which reports were severally read and accepted - Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

[Message from Govr] The Secretary of the State came in and laid on the table a message from the Governor containing a communication from the Treasurer respecting foreign Bank Bills offered by Collection of Taxes in payment at the treasury - which was read and committed to Messrs Ripley and Tuttle with such as the House may join - Sent down for concurrence - Came up concurred and Messrs Moody, Clap and Crowell were joined by the House -
