[196] [1822 Feb 9] Saturday morning Feby 9 1822 [Resolve-] Resolve making an allowance for Clerk hire to the Secretary of State, Adjutant General and Treasurer came up from the House non concurred with the vote of the Senate passing the same to be engrossed - and by the House postponed indefinitely. The Senate insist on their former vote - sent down = On motion - ordered that Messrs Wheeler, Ripley and O'Brien be a committee of conference on the part of the Senate - as to the disagreement of the two Houses on the Resolve aforesaid - and that the Secretary inform the House of Representatives thereof and request their concurrence -
[message for conference &c] A message from the House of Representatives by Mr Child their Clerk - "Mr President The House of Representatives concur in the proposition of the Senate for a committee of conference on the disagreement of the two houses on the Resolve making allowance for Clerk hire to the Secretary of State, Adjutant General and Treasurer and have on their part appointed Messrs Parsons, Todd & Elder on the Committee.
[Resolve] Resolve appropriating two hundred dollars to provide fuel for the use of the Legislature and public offices of the State was read twice and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the House.
[Contingent fund] Ordered that Messrs Ripley and Burnham be a committee to consider what appropriation is necessary for a contingent fund - with leave to report by Resolve or otherwise - The committee afterwards reported a Resolve making an appropriation for contingent expenses - which was read twice and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.
