[90] [1822 Jan. 19] Saturday - Jan. 19 - 1822 - [underscored and centered] [Petitions committed] The Petition of Samuel Dyer Junr. and Ebenezer Reading of Calais praying for the passage of a law for the greater security of logs in booms, was read and committed to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and canals, in concurrence with the House.

Ordered that the petition of Elliot G. Vaughan be taken from the files of the Senate and placed in the hands of the Committee on New trials - also that petition of Inhabitants of No. 3 in the 3rd range - and petition of Abraham Moor & others be taken from the files and put in the hands of the Committee on Incorporation of Towns.

Mr. Bradbury from the Committee on the Governor's Message of the 14th instant reported a

[Resolve] Resolve granting compensation to the Board of Jurisprudence - which was read and tuesday next at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.

[Report of Committee] Mr. Buxton from the Committee on Incorporation of Parishes reported that the Congregational Society in Buxton have leave to bring in a bill - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

Mr. Bradbury from the Committee to inquire into the expediency of passing a law prohibiting officers under the United States Post officers excepted, from holding offices under this State - reported that leave be granted to bring in a Bill.

Mr. Dennett from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals reported that John Burns and others have leave to bring in a bill - read & accepted - sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.
