[102] [1822 Jan. 22] [Committee on Gaol commitments] may join be a committee to consider the expediency of requiring sheriffs and other officers, having executions, or other precepts against any person, to commit him to gaol in the county where there are two gaols - in that gaol which is nearest to the place where he shall reside or have his home - with leave to report by bill or otherwise -

[Message from House - amend'g engrossed bill] A message was received from the House that they had amended the Bill engrossed - entitled 'An Act in addition to an Act regulating Elections' as appeared on the paper contained in those with the Bill. Which amendments being adopted by the Senate - Ordered that a message go to the House of Representatives to inform them thereof.

[election of Major General of First Division] A message from the House, by Mr. Child - their Clerk

"Mr. President The House of Representatives on another ballot have on their past elected Brigadier General John McDonald Major General of the first Division of the Militia of this State, thereby concurring with the Senate in the choice of that officer.

[Report of Committee on Allen's pet.] Mr. Wheeler from the Committee to whom was referred the petition of Ebenezer Allen and others reported that petitioners have leave to withdraw their petition - - report read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

[Report on pet. of Orono] Mr. Bradbury from the Committee on accounts reported that the Town of Orono have leave to withdraw their petition. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

[Report on pet. of Hebron] Mr. Bond from the Committee on New Trials reported that the Inhabs. of Hebron have leave to bring in a bill - read & accepted - Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.
