[Leave for bill] Mr. O'Brien from the Committee on Interior Fisheries reported that Peleg Tallman and others have leave to bring in a Bill. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence – came up concurred.
[message to House] Ordered that a message go to the House of Representatives proposing a convention of both branches of the Legislature this day at 11 o'clock for the purpose of qualifying such counsellors elect as have accepted and are not yet qualified to act. A message was received from the House – that they had concurred in the foregoing proposition for a convention.
[Convention to qualify Counsellor] Agreeably to assignment the two houses met this day at 11. o'clock, when Joshua Gage esq. a counsellor elect appeared and took and subscribed the oaths required, previous to his entering on the duties of his office – and the convention then separated.
A message was then sent to inform the Governor that Joshua Gage Esquire was duly qualified to act as one of his council in the executive part of the Government.
[Resolve reported] Mr. Pierce from the Committee on so much of the Gov. message as relates to that subject – reported a Resolve relating to the Northern and Eastern boundaries of the State – which was read and passed to be engrossed – Send down for concurrence.
