Bill to cede to the United States of America the jurisdiction of certain lands- - additional to an act to prevent fraud in firewood, bark, or coal exposed to sale - - respecting the fisheries in the Counties of Lincoln & Cumberland - were passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Remonstrance of John Gooch & als against petition of Joseph M Baker was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State when he shall procure to be printed according to the Resolve of the twenty eighth of June 1820 the Acts& Resolves of the present session, to cause to be subjoined general Indices of all the private acts & Resolves of this State, & of all the public acts passed subsequent to those contained in the two volumes of the Laws of Maine and cause to be bound in Boards a sufficient number of Volumes of the same Acts & Resolves for the use of the Legislature and the House concurred.

Bill in addition to an act providing for the payment of costs in criminal prosecutions, was read once & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 2nd reading -

Bill to incorporate the town of Whiting, came from the Senate amended for concurrence - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate appointing Messrs Southwick and Scammon with such as the House may join a committee to consider the expediency of providing by law that the Governor with advice of Council draw on the Treasurer for such sums as they may think necessary to carry into effect the existing treaties with the Indians for concurrence - and the House concurred and Messrs Williams os Swanville, Wingate of Bath & Humphreys of Gray.
