lay before you a communication from the Board of Jurisprudence who have closed the digest of the general laws and who will arrange an appendix, with a suitable index marginal abstracts and table of contents, should it be the pleasure of the Legislature to direct them. As there has not been any provision made to meet the expense of the Board and their Secretary, I suggest for your consideration whether there would not be a propriety in making such an appropriation for the purpose, as will meet the expense up to this time. In Senate Feby 22nd 1821 Ordered that the message of the Governor to the two Houses of the Legislature, this day received and the report of the Board of Jurisprudence accompanying the same, be committed to Messrs Foxcroft, Boutelle and O'Brien with such as the House may join. Read and passed. Sent down for concurrence Read and concurred and Messrs Wheeler of Camden, Moody of Kennebunk, Delano of Woolwich, Vose of Augusta, & Redington of Vassalboro' are joined.

[Bill - to abolish C.C.P. &c &c]

Bill entitled "An Act to abolish the Circuit Courts of Common Pleas, transfer the powers thereof to the Supreme Judicial Court and to establish nisi prius and law terms to be holden by the said Supreme Judicial Court" came back from the Senate amended & taken into a new draft: and is on motion committed to Messrs Wilson of Bingham, Allen of Sandford, Atherton of Prospect Currier of Readfield and Reed of Waldoboro'.
