To all persons to whom these Presents shall come,
Greeting:

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Castine, within and for our County of Hancock, on the fourth Tuesday of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three; Mayhew Tucusy, late resident of Ellsworth, in our said County of Hancock, Laborer, was convicted of the crime of Larceny; and thereupon, by our said Court, was sentenced to be punished by solitary imprisonment for the term of one month, and afterwards confined to hard labor for the term of eighteen months, in and within the precincts of the Gaol in said County of Hancock; a part of which sentence remains to be executed; and he the said Mayhew Tecusy, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:
Now Know Ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Mayhew Tecusy, that part of the punishment aforesaid, which yet remains to be execute; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Parris, our governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, at Portland the ninth day of September, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty four, and in the forty ninth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
