State of Maine.

Greeting:

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Paris, within and for our County of Oxford, on the first Tuesday of January, being the third day of said month, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six; Jacob Cobb, of Hartford in our said County of Oxford Yeoman, was convicted of the Crime of passing counterfeit bank bills, and having in his possession, with intent to pass the same, certain other counterfeit bank bills; and thereupon by our said Court was sentenced to be punished by solitary imprisonment in our State Prison, at Thomaston, for the term of ten days, and to be confined to hard labor in said Prison, for the term of three years: a part of which sentence yet remains to be executed; and he the said Jacob Cobb, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:

Now know Ye, That upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Jacob Cobb, that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness, Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, at Portland, the twenty seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven; and in the fifty second year of the Independence of the United States of America.
