State of Maine.

To all persons to whom these Presents shall come,

Greeting:

Whereas, before Cornelius Dillingham, Esquire, one of our Justices of the Peace, within and for our County of Cumberland, at his dwelling house in Freeport; on the twenty third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six; Joshua Soule, of Freeport, in our said County of Cumberland Cordwainer; was convicted of the Crime of Larceny, and thereupon by our said Justice was sentenced to pay a fine of one dollar to the use of the State, and costs of prosecution taxed at three dollars; which sentence has been fully performed; and he the said Joshua Soule, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:

Now Know Ye, That upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby grant to him the said Joshua Soule, a full and free Pardon of the Crime aforesaid; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates, and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed at Portland, the twenty seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven; and in the fifty second year of the Independence of the United States of America.
