On this fourth day of [March 1820] Personally [appearing] Before me William Crosby on of the judges of the [this] [Eastern] circuit court of Common pleas [including] the county of Hancock Washington and Penobscot being a court of record by the laws of said state, with power of fine and imprisonment Ben Ladd aged 64 years, resident in Belmont in said county, [Local] of Hancock who being first duly sworn according to law doth on this oath declare that he served in the revolutionary war as follows, to wit: one year as a private in Capt [Issac Shermans] [NOTE: can not interpret word following Captain's name] in Col [NOTE: can not interpret Col. name] [Badduding] Regiment in the Massachusetts [Locks]
