Peace and Domestic Happiness prevail throughout the land, and may the light of true religion be universally diffused, so that guided by its holy influence, we may correct whatever has been erroneous in our past lives, and be enabled faithfully to discharge the duties incumbent upon us as members of human society, and candidates for an eternal existence in a future state.
Given at the Council Chamber in Augusta, this ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three, and in the fifty seventh year of American Independence.
