46 [1824] Senate January 15th 1824

[Communications from Counsellors elect] Communications were received from Messrs. Daniel Merrill, James McLellan, William Chadwick and Abraham Morrell, signifying their acceptance of the Office of Counsellors, and their readings to be qualified. Read and Sent down.

[Bill regulating proceedings on Warrants] Bill further regulating the proceedings upon Warrants issued by Justices of the Peace, was read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Message] The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table a written Message from the Governor.

[Pet: Inhab's of Sunkhaze] The Senate reconsider their Vote by which they referred the petition of the Inhabitants of Sunkhaze to build a Bridge over Great Works Stream to the Committee on Turnpikes &c. and they now refer the same to the Committee on State lands, Sent down for concurrence, and was concurred.

[Messages] A Message was sent to the House proposing a Convention of the two Houses this day at 10 O'clock for the purpose of electing a Treasurer of State, and to qualify James McLellan, William Chadwick, Abraham Morrell and Daniel Merrill Esquires, Counsellors elect for the current year.

A Message was then received from the House concurring in the foregoing proposition.
