[1824] [Convention] acceptance, when James McLellan, Daniel Merrill, William Chadwick and Abraham Morrell Esquires, came in, took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to discharge the duties of the Office of Counsellors the current year.

[Treasurer chosen] The Convention then proceeded to the choice of a Treasurer. The whole number of Votes given was one hundred and fifty four, necessary to a choice seventy eight, Elias Thomas Esq. had one hundred and fifty three and was elected. The two Houses then separated.

[Notice to] On Motion of Mr. Campbell ordered that the Secretary of State be directed to notify Elias Thomas Esq. of his election to the Office of Treasurer of State for the current year.

[Message relative to Counsellors] Mr. McDonald was then charged with a Message to the Governor informing him that James McLellan, William Chadwick, Abraham Morrell and Daniel Merrill Esquires have been duly elected Counsellors for the current year, have appeared, taken and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the duties of their office.

[Report on Petition] Mr. Whitney from the Committee to whom was referred the Petition of the Congregational Society in the East Parish in Shapleigh, reported that the petitioners cause an attested Copy of their petition with this order thereon to be served on the town Clerk of said town of Shapleigh, and also on the Clerk of the Baptist Society in the Eastern part of Shapleigh, fourteen days at least, before the first Monday of February next. Read accepted and sent down for concurrence.
