88. Bill to prevent intemperance, excess & corruption on days of elections being reported with amendments which were adopted, was read a 2d time and on motion referred to Messrs Adams of Portland, Boutelle of Waterville, Ford of Alna, Fessender of Portland & Hall of Camden.

Bill to exempt from taxation Manufacturing Companies of Cotton, Wool Iron & Steel for a limited time - was considered & ordered to lie on the table

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill in further addition to an act concerning foreign attachment - to incorporate Temple Lodge which were passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence

The same committee reported as duly engrossed Resolve in aid of the Gardiner Lyceum - - for the admission of Daniel Clark to practise law in the C. C. Pleas & for other purposes - which were finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered that Messrs Richardson of Portland, Smith of Westbrook & McCobb of Phipsburg be a committee to consider the expediency of amending the act "to regulate the inspection of Beef & Pork & - read & passed.

The Committee on the petition of Isaac Isley reported a Bill - report accepted.

Bill to cede to the United States of America the jurisdiction of certain lands - was read 1st, 2d & 3d time& passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence
