Gov I Washburn Jr

Dear Sir

You will remember that I wrote you at the commencement of the war offering the [Ex] [tigest] which company went in the 2nd Rigiment I could not leave me business so as to go at that time. but have so arranged now that I can leave better. and would be ex treemley Happy to have your p[a]ermmision to Raise a Company in this section for the 7th Rigiments Now forming at Augusta.

[their] are some smart young men here that want to go into [is] and I think that we [can] get up a good company that will [compass] favorably with my company that has left the State

Very Respectfully Daniel White
