The forgoing report was read and accepted and sent down for concurrence - Came up concurred.

[Message to the House respecting choice of Secretary of State.]

On motion, Ordered that a message be sent to the "House proposing that the convention which is to be formed this day at 11 oclock for the purpose of filling the vacancy in the Senate, after having filled said vacancy proceed to the election of Secretary of State. -

[Convention to fill vacancy in the Senate.]

At 11 oclock the two Houses met in convention agreeably to assignment, and proceeded to the choice of a Senator to supply the vacancy in Lincoln District on the counting of the votes it appeared that the whole number was 148 necessary to constitute an election 73 - Edward Killeran Esq. had 129 and was declared elected.

[Secretary of State Chosen.]

The convention then proceeded to elect a Secretary of State on counting the votes - it appeared that the whole number was 151. necessary to constitute an election 76 - Amos Nichols Esq. had 151 and was declared elected. - The two Houses then separated.

[Committee to wait on the Governor elect]

On motion - Ordered that Messrs Tallman and Bond, with such as the House may join be a committee to wait upon the "Hon. Albion K. Parris and inform him that he has been duly elected Governor of the State of Maine agreeably to the provision of the Constitution - Read and sent down for
