[1823 January 2.]

[Message from Governor.]

The Secretary of State came in and laid upon the table a written message from the Governor, which was read and sent down. -

The committee appointed to prepare Rules and Orders for the Senate the present year, made the following report, viz.

[Report of Committee on rules & orders.]

That the Rules and Orders which were in force in the year 1822 be had and received as the rules & orders for the present year, except that the word "considered" in the 14th article shall be altered to "reconsidered"; and that the names of the persons composing the civil government the present year be inserted therein. -

[order for printing Govs. message]

On motion, ordered that 200 copies of the Governor's message be printed for the use of the Legislature. - Read, passed & sent down for concurrence. - came up concurred. -

[Order for printing Rules & orders of Senate]

On motion, Ordered that the Secretary of the Senate procure to be printed 50 copies of the Rules & Orders of the Senate for the use of the members. - The Senate then adjourned to half past nine oclock tomorrow morning.
