Sir, I have recd from Col Roberts of the 2nd Regiment the appointment of 2nd Master as soon as Mr. Lord receives his discharge - It is not certain that he will get his discharge for some time to come. Perhaps a month if I could have a chance to raise a Company of the Regiment of Cavalry- I would come home + do it - I am willing + anxious to do something to help - but I must get enough to feed my children at home - which my present position will not do - Would you give me a chance to raise a company of two Cavalry? or in case you
