Wednesday January 24th 1827.

Met according to adjournment

Ordered that Messrs Storer of Carthage, Holt of Norway and Stvery of Woodstock be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of repealing an act annexing lot number seven in the thirteenth range in Township number four to Dixfield, passed February 6th 1822 - read & passed.

Bill for the further protection of towns from fire, reported by the committee of this House of the Judiciary committee, was read a 1st & 2nd time& tomorrow assigned for a 3rd reading.

Ordered that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing a Resolve in favor of the heirs of Joseph Allen passed the seventh day of February last & of passing another Resolve, having view the same object. Read & passed. Sent up for concurrence Petitions of Drudley Young & als

Petition of Dennis Fairbanks & als of Montgomery, that the name of said town may be changed, was read and referred to the committee on the incorporation of towns. Sent up for concurrence.
