Mr. Ripley from the committee on engrossed Bills,” reported a
Bill to incorporate the Canal Bank”, to be truly copied; when, on motion of Mr. Parsons of L. amendments were adopted, in the 15th section thereof; and a message was sent to the House informing them of the same, and requesting their concurrence.
Bill additional to an Act to regulate the manufacture and inspection of stone lime and lime casks,” was read a 2d time and committed to Messrs. Southwick, Churchill and Scammon.
The committee to whom was referred the
Bill respecting the conveyance of heavy loads on wheel carriages to and from the town of Portland,” having reported the same to the House in a new draft, and that the Secretary of State cause the same to be published three weeks at least in all the newspapers printed in the State, the last publication to be three months before the session of the next Legislature; and that the further consideration of the Bill be referred to the next Legislature; the report was accepted in the House, came up for concurrence, and the Senate concurred.

A message was received from the House informing that they had voted to concur the Senate in their amendments in the
Bill to incorporate the Canal Bank,” and had passed the same to be reengrossed as amended: and the Senate concurred therein.
