[Bill to incorporate the Northern Harmonic Society]
Bill to incorporate the Northern Harmonic Society, which had been refused a second reading, was on motion of Mr. Bond, ordered to be laid upon the table: The Senate reconsider their vote by which they rejected the Bill, and assign tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a second reading: committed in the second reading. -
[Returns of Banks]
Agreeably to an order of yesterday the Secretary of State came and laid on the table such returns as have been made to his office from the several Banks in this State, which a true abstract thereof, which were ordered to lie on the table. -
[Convention to qualify Counsellor]
At half past twelve oclock the two Houses met in Convention agreeably to assignment for the purpose of qualifying Daniel Merrill Esquire, a Counsellor elect for the current year, who came in & took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the duties of his office. - The two Houses then separated. -
[Message to the Governor]
Mr. Bond was charged with a message to the Governor informing him that Daniel Merrill Esquire had been duly qualified to serve as a Counsellor the current year, by taking & subscribing the oaths required by the Constitution.
