          I am mailing you seven of 

the books you ask for, duly auto- graphed. I will try to get the others, though they may be out of print. One, The Collector's Whatnot, is also autographed by the co-authors, Booth Tarkingon and Hugh MacNair Kahler. I am very happy to donate these books to the library, not only be- cause it is the state library, but also because of the assistance I received last autumn when I was assembling material for my new novel, Arundel.
