The Senators accordingly came in and had seats assigned them.

A message was then sent to the Governor informing him that both branches of the Legislature are now assembled in the Representatives Chamber and ready to be qualified, & requesting him to attend there & administer to them the oaths of office.

Accordingly the Governor, attended by the Council, Secretary & Treasurer of State came in, when in their presence the Senators present took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties - after which the Representatives took & subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of the duties of their office.
