[Bill - Militia]

The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Bill, "An Act additional to an act to organize, govern & discipline the militia of this State" which was on motion amended at A in the 3d sec. by inserting the following words "And so much of said Act as relates to enginemen" & passed to be enacted as amended. The Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith and desire the concurrence of that body to the amendment.

[Committee on pay roll to add 15 days additional pay to Clerks Compensation &c]

On motion of Mr Leach,

Ordered that fifteen days additional pay be made up on the pay roll for the Clerk of this House as a full compensation for his services in making up the Journals and filing the papers after the close of the session and for making an index to said Journal. read & passed.

[Committee - fining towns for not sending Rep.]

On motion of Mr McIntire Ordered that Messrs McIntire, Purrington of B, & Parker of G. be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of passing a Law imposing a fine on any town entitled to choose a Representative, that shall hereafter neglect to exercise that right - read & passed.

[James M Rogers &c]

The Committee of both Houses appointed the 5th inst. to hear the answer of James M Rogers of Bowdoinham in the County of Lincoln to the causes assigned for his removal from every office civil & military he now holds under this State &c &c reported that said Rogers having appeared & claimed further time to prepare his defence, it is expedient that the subject be referred to the next Legislature - The report being refused acceptance in the Senate was sent down for the con-
