5 On motion by Mr Weston Ordered that the Senate now proseed to the choice of a Messenger, Messrs Wes ten, Sweat and Miller appointed a Committee to re ceive, sort and count the votes reported that the whole number of votes given was Seventeen all of which were for John Merrill who was decla red elected.
