Bill to prevent intemperance, excess & corruption on days of Election, reported in a new draft which was amended, was rejected by the House 53 pro 52 Con. Mr Fessenden moved at this time a reconsideration of the last vote, which did not prevail - Wm McCobb then moved a reconsideration of all the votes & the motion prevailed.

Bill for the benefit of Waterville College, came from the Senate in a New draft for concurrence - and the House concurred in passing the same in said new draft, to be engrossed.

The Committee on the petition of Jonathan Trask & als reported leave to withdraw - The House recommitted the subject & sent back the papers to the Senate for their concurrence

Report on petition of Joseph Williamson & als granting leave for a Bill - was in Senate recommitted & sent down for concurrence - The House concurred

The Committee on the petition of Ebenezer Alden reported a Bill - accepted.

Bill for the benefit of Ebenezer Alden - was read 1 & 2d time, amended and referred to Messrs Williams of Augusta, McCobb of Phipsburg & Watts of St George.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the committee on Interior fisheries to enquire as to the expediency of amending the law regulating the herring fishery in this State - & House concurred.

Resolve for the relief of William Rice - was read & passed. Sent up for concurrence

Remonstrance of sundry Inhabitants of Hope & Lincolnville against the petition of John Brooks & als referred in Senate to the committee on applications for Manufacturing Companies, came down for concurrence & the House concurred.
