Thursday January 26th 1826

The Board came to order pursuant to adjournment

Bill to prevent the destruction of fish in Denny's River and Pinmaquan came back from the House amended, and the Senate reconsidered their former vote, adopted the proposed amendments and passed the same to be engrossed as amended in concurrence with the House.

Resolve in favor of the town of Maxfield was read a first time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a second reading

Petition of Selectmen of the town of Trenton and Petition of Alfred Langdon and others, for a full or half shire of the County of Hancock at Ellsworth Petition of Aaron Fellows and others of Chesterville to be annexed to Fayette and Remonstrance of Thomas Gordon and others of Chesterville against the same and Remonstrance of Manly Hardy in behalf of the town of Bucksport against the division of the County of Hancock were severally read and in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on Incorporation of Towns.

Petition of Asa A. Pond and others of Calais for a Law providing Security to the owners of logs against theft. and Petition of Daniel Merrill Junr and others for a translation of the Latin words and phrases in the Statutes, were severally read and in concurrence with the House referred to the Committee on the Judiciary
