Mr. Scamman, from the Committee reported the "Bill to assess on this State a tax of Forty nine thousand nine hundred and ninety three Dollars and ninety three cents with amendments, and the same was read a second time and passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

Resolve authorizing the Land Agent to convey certain Lands came up passage refused and the Senate concurred,

Resolve making further provision respecting the State Road from Sunkhaze to Mattawamkeag River came up with a proposition for a conference, which the Senate accept and appoint Messrs Churchill, Dunn and Parsons.

Resolve respecting Clerk hire in the offices of the Treasurer and Secretary of State and for another purpose came up from the House they having refused to accept the Report of the Conferees and now the Senate reconsider their former votes and pass the same Resolve to be engrossed in concurrence with the House as by them taken into a new draft,

Mr. Churchill from the Conferees on the disagreement of the two Houses in relation to the "Bill imposing a duty on Sales at Auction," reported that the Committee recommend to the Senate an adherence to their former vote passing this Bill to be engrossed. Read and accepted and thereupon the Senate voted to adhere accordingly
