Message from the Senate by Mr Low their Secretary –

Mr Speaker,

I am charged with a message informing the House that their [there] is deficiency of one Senator in the County of Oxford, of one Senator in the County of Hancock and of one Senator in the County of Somerset – that the Constitutional Candidates for supplying the deficiency of a Senator in the County of Oxford are Joseph Howard who had five hundred and thirty votes and Levi Hubbard who had four hundred and forty eight votes – The Constitutional Candidates for supplying the deficiency of a Senator in the County of Hancock are John S Kimball who had five hundred and sixty six votes and Samuel M Pond who had three hundred and fifty seven votes – and the Constitutional Candidates for supplying the deficiency of a Senator in the County of Somerset are for William Allen Junior who had seven hundred and eighty six votes and Obed Wilson who had seven hundred and two votes – and the Senate propose a convention of both branches of the Legislature in the Representatives Chamber at one half past three o clock for the purpose of supplying said deficiencies in the manner prescribed by the Constitution, and request the concurrence of the House – and the House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointed Messrs Wiliams, Stebbins and Elden with such as the House may join, a committee to wait on Albion K Parris & inform him that he has been duly elected by the people, Governor of the State of Maine for the ensuing political year agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution – and that the Senate & House of Representatives will convene in the Representatives Chamber to qualify him for the discharge of the duties of that office agreeably to the Constitution whenever it may be convenient for
