[1824] ordered that the following Rule be added to the Rules and orders of the Senate, viz: [additions to the rules & orders] "Every Member who shall be at the Senate Board when a question is put, where he is not excluded by interest, shall give his vote unless for special reasons, the Senate shall excuse him."

[Petition of Sherebiah Dakin] Petition of Sherebiah Dakin for an allowance for Military service, was read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Accounts. Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.

[joint Committee on right of the Road] On motion of Mr. Wheeler, ordered that Messrs. Wheeler and Wilkins with such as the House may join, be a committee to enquire into the expediency of regulating by law, the right of the Road, with leave to report by bill or otherwise; and that the Bills and papers now on the files of the Senate be delivered to said Committee. Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred, and Messrs. Sands, Slemmons and Eaton were joined.
