[Petitions referred] The following Petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on Interior Fisheries, came up for concurrence, viz: Petition of John Kilby and others of Denneysville on the subject of the fisheries in said town; Petitions of Sullivan and Vinalhaven on the subject of the fisheries in said towns; Petition of Selectmen of Ellsworth to repeal the law regulating the fisheries in Union river and Bay; Petition of Proprietors of Mill Dams in Union, that the law regulating Interior fisheries in Lincoln & Cumberland, be repealed; Petition of Assessors of Plantation No. 14 to repeal the law regulating the fisheries in Union river; Petition of Warren Ware for the exclusive privilege of taking pickerel in Orrington and Bucksport; Petition of Inhabitants of South Berwick for a law to prohibit the taking Alewives in Salmon Falls River, except with a dip net; and Petition of George Crabtree and others of Taunton that a law may be passed to compel the Mill owners near that place to open and keep a passage for fish to ascend; and they were severally read and referred to the same Committee in concurrence with the House.
