Met according to adjournment

The committee to whom was referred the Bill & other papers in relation to the establishment of a General Hospital, reported leave for a new Bill. The report accepted in Senate came down for concurrence – and the House concurred.

William Abbot Esqr of Castine, appeared, presented his credentials, was qualified and took his seat as a member.

Report from the Land Agent of Maine for 1825, with an accompanying letter, came from the Senate referred to the Committee on State Lands & 500 copies ordered to be printed for concurrence – and the House concurred.

Petition of Oliver Sewall – also - of Oliver Sewall & another - which were referred in this House 10th inst. to the committee on Accounts, came from the Senate noncurred [nonconcurred] – and giving the petitioners leave to withdraw – The House reconsidered their votes & concurred with the Senate.

Petition of Daniel Spofford & al that a charter may be granted for a Bridge at Gardiner also Remonstrance of James Bridge & als against such a grant &c referred in Senate to the committee on Turnpikes Bridges and Canals came down for concurrence – and the House concurred.

Ordered that the committee on Banks & Banking be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by Resolve for the appointment by the Governor & Council of a committee to examine the state & condition of the several Banks in the State, at certain stated seasons – read and passed. Sent up for concurrence.
