16 of the two Houses of the Legislature and request their attendance at the Senate Board, and the House concurred.

And the House adjourned until three o clock this afternoon.

Afternoon. Met according to adjournment

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing that the Committee appointed to engage some suitable person to draft Bills & Resolves, be instructed to agree on the compensation he shall receive for his services, not exceeding three dollars per day and the House concurred.

Mr. Dole chairman of the committee appointed for the purpose reported a list of the names of the members of the House of Representatives and the numbers of their respective seats, which report was read & accepted as amended.

Message from the Governor was laid upon the table by Mr. Nichols, Secretary of State, and after being read from the Chair, was on motion, laid upon the table and 300 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the members. [for Message see appendix page 274]

The committee appointed to prepare and report Riles & Orders for the government of the House, during the present session of the Legislature, made their report which was accepted, with amendments, immediately on motion of Mr. Holmes, the vote accepting the report was reconsidered, and then a proposition for a further amendment submitted by him, when on motion the papers were ordered to be laid on the table.

Ordered, that the certificates of the election of the persons returned as members of the House of Representatives
