� 50 Still on the river
Nov 10th We moved back a mile into the roads and pitched tents to the ole guard duty in rear of the teems. A detale was made for picket. Some say we shall stay some time but I consider it uncertain 11th I comensed to fix a good tent a new detale to strengthen the picket line which took my tent mate 12th No news of importense. 13th All quiet. Our pickets are relieved 14th We had a review at 1 oclock P.M. It rained all night. 15th Rainy in the morning. Fair P.M. Canonading in the morning. Orders to be ready to move at a moments notice 16th A fair morning, no move yet 17th I went on picket at ten oclock 18th Still in picket. No news 19th We heard the bugle blowing strike tents earley in the morning. We had orders and withdrew the pickets and followed the troops across the river. We camped about two miles on the south side of the rappahannock
