On motion of Mr. Alden of Brunswick Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire as to the expediency of amending the law relating to usury - read & passed. Sent up fro concurrence.

Bill - additional to an act to incorporate the Proprietors of Oldtown Bridge Corporation, reported by the committee on Turnpikes Bridges & Canals, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at ten o clock assigned for a third reading.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill to incorporate the town of Appleton which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed Resolve, respecting the dividing line between Hollis and Waterborough which was finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Samuel Dutton & als of Ellsworth praying that the prayer of the petition of John Black & al may be granted. also Remonstrance of Elihu Bragdon & als agst. a division of the town of York - of Samuel Gordon & als of Belfast agst being annexed to Waldo plantation - of the town of Belfast on the same subject -were severally read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of Towns. Sent up for concurrence.

Petitions of Abijah Smith & als that the powers of the Court of Sessions as to laying out Highways may be transferred from said Court & vested in Commissioners to be appointed in each County

- of Andrew Dennison & als to abolish imprisonment for debt

and the office of Sheriff &c were severally read & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.
