Message was received from the Governor as follows

To the Senate and House of Representatives, In pursuance of a request of the Governor of the State of Georgia, I communicate herewith a Remonstrance and Resolution of that State in relation to the Tariff Council Chamber Portland January 26 1829 Enoch Lincoln Read and with the accompanying documents referred in concurrence with the Senate to the committee who have under consideration so much of the Governors Speech as relates to the Tariff.

A message was received from the Senate by Mr. Hutchinson their Secretary, informing the House that their is one vacancy at the Senate Board from the District of Oxford and that John Grover and Daniel Hutchinson are the constitutional candidates to fill that Vacancy, and proposing a convention in the Representatives Chamber at eleven o clock this day for the purpose of filling said vacancy - and the House agreed to said proposition for a convention and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.

On motion of Mr. Carpenter of Howland Ordered, That the committee on the North Eastern Boundary be directed to inquire into the expediency of locating a Road from the mouth of the Mattawamkeag to Mattawaska - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the town of Lincoln, reported with amendments which were adopted, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as thus amended. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - relating to the school fund in North Yarmouth, reported with amendments as on sheet annexed marked B which were adopted, was read a third time and passed to be engrossed.
