[Report on Petition] Petition of Enoch A. Glidden, reported that the Petitioner have leave to bring in a Bill, Read, accepted, and sent down for concurrence.

[Petition referred] Petition of the Trustees of China Academy was taken from the files and referred to the Committee on Literature and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Committee on the abolishment of imprisonment for Debt] Order of the House that Messrs. Smith Pierce and Clark be a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to consider the expediency of abolishing imprisonment for debt; with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, came up for concurrence, was read, and concurred, and Messrs. Wheeler and Usher were joined.
