Met according to adjournment An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to notify the Governor that the Legislature have this day, by a concurrent vote of the Senate and the House of Representatives, elected Joseph S. Jewett of Scarboro in the County of Cumberland, Major General of the 5th Division of the Militia of this State - and the House concurred.
Report on the petition of the Stockholders of Bangor Bank made the present session & accompanying papers, came down referred to the Committee on Banks & Banking for concurrence - and the House concurred.
Bill respecting County Roads taken from the last years files of the Senate, came down referred to the Committee on Turnpikes &c for concurrence & the House concurred.
Report of the committee to whom was referred the order to inquirer into the expediency of reporting a bill making provision for a drill of officers &c, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Report on that part of the Governors Speech relating to Debtors & Creditors, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Resolve in favor of John K. Smith came from the Senate referred to the committee on the Judiciary for concurrence & the House concurred.
Petition of Solomon H. Mudge & als members of the Portland Rifle Company to be incorporated, was read & referred to the committee on Militia & Military Affairs. Sent up for concurrence.
