The House resumed the order of the day on the motion of Mr Bourne for a reconsideration of the vote of the 7th inst. accepting the report on the petition of Nahum Smith & als and after further discussion, the House refused to reconsider said vote. The question was taken by yeas & nays and decided as follows: [See appendix page 288.] Yeas 58. nays 65.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Williams & Scammon with such as the House may join a committee to inquire what measures ought to be adopted, additional to the Resolve apportioning the Representatives on the several Counties, towns, plantations & classes, with leave to report &c – and the House concurred & Messrs Pease of Cornish, Myrick of Hebron and Reed of Lewiston were joined

Reports on the petition of the Selectmen of New Portland - - Selectmen of Richmond - - Selectmen of Fairfield - - Robert Cates & als and on the order of 27th inst on subject of apportionment of Representatives on the several Counties, towns & classes, came from the Senate referred to the above last mentioned committee for concurrence & the House concurred.

The committee on engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed , Bills – for the relief of School District in Bucksport & Orland - - to incorporate the Proprietors of Ferry point Bridge - - to incorporate the Proprietors of Stillwater Bridge which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Resolves – in favor of Harvard College - - providing for the settlement of the line between Scarboro’ & Buxton - for the relief of Daniel Brown - - for the benefit of the Penobscot Indians - which were severally passed finally in this House. Sent up for concurrence.
