320 Tappan Street Brookline, Massachusetts September 18, 1954

M rs. F.w. Jae1ob Maine State Library Augusta, M aine De ar Mrs. Jacob: I have in my posession some things that have been closely as s ociated with the life and work of my uncle, M arsden Hartley. It has occurred to me that you might like to have them for your library since some of them are mentioned in his writings and could be used on occasions 'for exhibition purposes.

As I have been recently assembling these things with the idea of disposing of them I would appreciate hearing from you immediately in regard to the matter. · I mean of course t o offer them as a gift. Sincerely yours ,
